Auckland 2019

We were blessed with perfect weather for our entire time in Auckland - not that that helped some of the guests with their golf score...Scotty! The Hilton hotel proved to be a popular destination with access to some beautiful restaurants and the ferry terminal just minutes away. 

At the first day of golf it was clear that everyone was acclimatising, as 31 points was all that was required to win - well done to Mark and Cheryl who both had that score. Windross Farm lead to better golf from all, with the opportunity to hit some warm up shots on their fantastic driving range no doubt assisting some. Again, Mark and Cheryl lead the way with 37 points. Some handicap changes were required on the final day at Gulf Harbour, but that still didn't stop Cheryl from posting 36 points. The Gillard Golf rule (can't win twice) was put in play and second placed Jim was announced the winner on the day with 35. 

The overall winner from the secret six was certainly the most consistent player all week, with scores of 31, 37 & 36. She was also a very popular winner and will receive a FJ Vest as the prize. See some notable scores below:

I think all would agree that the three courses offered completely different experiences. Titirangi had some fantastic holes and the 'Wrecker' will stick with us for some time. Windross Farm had that rugged look with the fescue grass new to many and some classic water surrounded holes. Gulf Harbour eased us into the course and then blew us away with some spectacular finishing holes. 

Our thoughts go out to Rosie and we all hope for a smooth recovery and look forward to seeing you back on the golf course.
