Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - Sept 2017 - The Lakes Golf Club

The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational took place at The Lakes Golf Club under clear but windy conditions. Guests were always going to find the prestigious layout challenging, but with the wind factor on top, it was going to be interesting to see what scores would be posted. 

As it turned out the teams took full advantage of the golf professionals on course with one team scoring an amazing 10 under par, including seven birdies in a row to finish their round! However, they were one of the lowest handicapped teams and only managed to finish in third place with a nett 56.5. Well done Andrew Ball, Andrew Hermann, Rick Anastas & Jochen De Jager on a great round. Just pipping them on a count back for the runner up position were Robert Wallhausen, Peter Hodgett, Max McLoughlin & Ross Gilholme who can thank their fast finish of 4 under their last 6 holes. But this great scoring was nothing compared to the winners, who blew the field away to win by a Lexus record margin of 5.5 shots! Their round included two eagles, five birdies and even a loan bogey on the shortest hole on the course, the 9th. Congratulations to our winners Yoko Fitton (2), Patrick Zhang (18), Lauren Shen (27) & Sandy Crestani (36) who finished with a nett 51. 

Sydney City Lexus gave the guests an opportunity to win a Lexus CT200h for a hole in one on the 18th hole or a Jucad buggy for a hole in one on the 9th hole. Unfortunately neither prize went off but $1,020 was raised for Diabetes Australia via the Lexus ribbon event. 

Eight guests also enjoyed the Beginner Golf Lessons and had their chance to perform under pressure in the putting and chipping competitions. Congratulations to Sherwin Rayan for winning the putting and Dave Harvey for winning the chipping. 

The most excited person on the day had to be Genie Owiti, when her name was drawn out as the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience.
