Lexus of Townsville Golf Invitational 2017

The Lexus of Townsville Golf Invitational was played at Townsville Golf Club in perfect conditions. A great turn out were on hand to see who could take out the winner's prize this year. 

Fourteen teams ventured out full of confidence but in the end one team separated themselves from the rest to take out the win by just under two shots. In third place was the team of Terry Dwyer, Kevin Lane, Geoff Abbott & Michael Blucher, who started slowly and were in fact one over par after five holes. Thankfully they righted the ship and managed to have five birdies in their last thirteen holes to finish with a nett 56. Just 0.375 of a shot better were our runners up, Darryl Pearce, Sandra Pearce, Ryan Egan & Rob Grant who must have been frustrated after their great start that included a run of four birdies in a row before a slow finish of just one under par their last eleven holes. The winners did it in style, but must have been unsure of how the day would pan out after they bogeyed their first hole. They had little to worry about as they tore the course apart with nine birdies on their closing seventeen holes to finish with a nett 53.875. Congratulations to Jim Kasper, Claudia Brassard, Wes Newman & James Webster. 

A Lexus CT200h was on offer for a hole in one prize on the 6th hole but unfortunately no one was lucky enough to take the prize. That said, money was also being raised for the Cancer Council on the hole and thanks to all guests who helped contribute $1,085. Special mention also has to go to Darryl & Sandra Pearce who won the auction for the signed Cowboys jersey and raise another $1,000 for the Cancer Council. 

The luckiest person on the day would have to be Aldo Virzi who won his way to the Melbourne Cup Experience after two of the guests drawn out were not in the room. Congratulations Adlo - see you in Melbourne!
