Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational - Thursday 14th September
The first of two Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitationals took place at the beautiful Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club. The weather wasn't too kind with strong winds making the already challenging course even tougher.
Guests were treated to a bag drop service on arrival and a great number chose to attend the bunker clinic to improve their confidence when they are next in the sand. Scoring was tough, but some teams managed to defy the odds and shoot incredibly low scores in the conditions. In third place with a great score of seven under par were the three ball team of Ray Stephens, Robin Gibb & Roger Ghest, who after a slow start managed to finish their last eleven holes in six under par to finish with a nett 55.83. In second place and just 0.08 short of the winning score were Wayne Worthy, Garry Mallett & Mark Turner with a nett 54.83. After shooting eight birdies and an eagle to post ten under par, it must have been heartbreaking to have finished so close to the winning score. Our winners shot six under par and required a birdie on the last hole to sneak over the line with a nett 54.75. Congratulations to David Dam, Syliva Lin, Jennifer Lin & Zhen Ma.
A record thirty five guests attended the Beginner Lessons that was hosted by three of the local golf professionals. Congratulations to Angelo Anello who took out the putting competition and Wayne Paterson who won the chipping competition.
A total of $1,080 was raised for Zonta via the Lexus ribbon event on the 17th hole. Unfortunately no one had a hole in one to win a Lexus CT200h valued at $40,000.
