Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational - Friday 15th September

The second Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational was held at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club under calmer and warmer conditions than the previous day. Almost 120 Lexus owners were in attendance to test there skills against the course that will host the NSW Open in just a couple of months.

Three teams managed to shoot ten under par in the perfect scoring conditions and even when handicaps were taken into account, two teams couldn't be separated. In third place with a nett 53.375 were Wayne Worthy, Leon Dyke, Don Lee & Ron Thomas, who started with an eagle on their first hole and followed that up with eight birdies to be one of the teams to finish on ten under par. The two others required a count back to separate them after they both finished on nett 52.25. The unfortunate runners up were Bruce Auty, Stephen Charles, Michael Edmonds & Kevin Duong who after three pars to start their round, finally got going to have seven under their next ten holes and finish with three straight birdies...but it was still not enough! The winners were steady throughout with five birdies on the front nine followed by another five on the back nine. Congratulations to Ken Turner (17), Mark Hurley (23), Tony Cramb (20) & Peter Sandy (18).

Guests had the opportunity to win a Lexus CT200h valued at $40,000 if anyone was lucky enough to have a hole in one on the 17th hole. Unfortunately it didn't go off, but there certainly were a few close attempts and even one shot that hit the flag. The Lexus ribbon was also used on this hole to raise money for Zonta. Thank you to the Lexus owners who donated a total of $1,575.
