Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational - 21st September 2018

The second Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational started off under perfect blue skies with Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club looking just as good. The 63 from the previous day's event set a high bench mark, but in the end it was bettered by the winning teams 62. 

In third place was the team of Rod Smith, Julie Smith, Chris McRae & Jennifer McRae who played consistently all day with four birdies on each of the nines, until they faulted with a bogey at the last to finish with a nett 54.625. Just 0.25 better was Greg Walker, Eddie Hughes, John Kennarney & Johnny Wong after they shot a fine 63. This team were nine under with three holes to play, but a par, bogey, birdie finish meant they had to settle for second place. Our winners finished with a nett score of 53.125 and were just over a shot ahead of their closest rival. They had the worst start imaginable with a bogey followed by two pars to be languishing on the leaderboard. An amazing stretch then followed with eight birdies and an eagle in their next twelve holes. A birdie on their last hole wasn't required in the end as they had already done enough. Congratulations to Anthony Elliott (7), Sun Nam Hwang (15), Robert Brown (22) & Ronald Churcher (27).

Funds were raised on the 17th hole for the Zonta Charity. Thank you to all those who donated as we raised $1,478.20. Guests also had their swing videoed on the 5th hole and all the results can be seen below with the shot tracer added to track the flight of the ball. 

No one was more excited at the end of the day when Mick Murphy's name was drawn out as the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience. Mick plays off a 10 handicap and is no doubt looking forward to a game at Royal Melbourne prior to the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
