Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational - 20th September 2018

The Lexus of Parramatta Golf Invitational started off with some showers passing through the area early in the morning. Thankfully, that didn't put any guests off and we had a fantastic turn out for the first of two events at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club. The rain may have slowed the greens up a little  but overall scoring was very good with the assistance of the golf professionals on course.

In third place was the team of Kent Stuart, Dina Stuart, Cecil Simpson & Irene Simpson, who were one over par after their first ten holes and must have been wondering if they were ever going to make a move. Well, it did eventually happen when they had five birdies on their last eight holes to finish with a nett 56.125. Just 0.625 better was Peter Sleap, Sue Willmott, Richard Willmott & Bernie Cohen after they shot a fine 68. This team started strongly to be four under after twelve holes, but all pars coming home meant they had to settle for second place. Our winners finished with a nett score of 54.25 and were just over a shot ahead of their closest rival. They had a great start to be six under after their first nine holes. A slow stretch then followed (including a bogey) until they found their mojo again and finished with three birdies in a row. Congratulations to Anna Park (11), Simon Park (19), Eun Hwa Sung (22) & Hee Jung Sung (18).

Funds were raised on the 17th hole for the Zonta Charity. Thank you to all those who donated as we raised $1,490. Guests also had their swing videoed on the 5th hole and all the results can be seen below with the shot tracer added to track the flight of the ball. 

Thirty eight guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons with three local golf professionals. The winners of the various sections can be seen below:

No one was more excited at the end of the day when Albert Tran's name was drawn out as the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience. Albert took part in the beginner clinic and has since booked himself some individual lessons with Royal Melbourne in his sites on the Monday prior to the Melbourne Cup.
