Lexus of Darwin 2017 - Darwin Golf Club

The Lexus of Darwin Golf Invitational took place at Darwin Golf Club under perfect conditions. A great turn out was on hand to see who would take out the 2017 title.

In third place was the team of Sue McWilliam, Greg Campbell, Bruce Fadelli & Carol Fadelli who must be regretting a bogey on their second last hole to finish with a nett 57.375. Less than a shot ahead in second place were Stu Macdonald, David Russell, May Dunlop & Lisa Machetti who had a clean round with four birdies and fourteen pars to finish with a nett 56.5. The winners were off to a great start with five birdies in their first nine holes. A slow run followed when they went one over par for their next six but a couple of birdies to finish put them in the clubhouse with the lowest score of the day of six under par. Congratulations to Ray Sommerville (13), Paul Dewar (20), Jeff Pinkerton (19) & Marilyn Pinkerton (35) who were more than a shot better than the rest of the field with a nett 55.125.

Five guests attended the beginner golf lessons conducted by local PGA Professional, Kurt Watts. Lots of fun was had and some are considering a step up to the 18 hole competition next year.

The opportunity to win a car was on offer on the 16th hole but unfortunately no one was able to put their ball in the hole for a hole in one. There is good news, however, as $930 was raised for Northern Territory Junior Golf via the charity ribbon event.

A final congratulations has to go to the winner of the Melbourne Cup Experience, Andy Bruyn who sounds like he will certainly enjoy his time at the races.
