Lexus of Adelaide 2017 - Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The Lexus of Adelaide Golf Invitational took place at Royal Adelaide Golf Club under perfect conditions. The ladies Australian Open was less than two weeks away and the presentation of the course reflected that - just magnificent.
A capacity field of 121 golfers enjoyed the Royal Adelaide experience, but in the end it could have been any one of four teams to take out the win if just one more putt had fallen. The runners up were 0.625 of a shot shy, after shooting 67 and finishing with a nett score of 56.625. Commiserations go to Gary Chesterman, Susie Crawford, Verity Hayman & John McAuliffe. The winners didn't shoot the lowest score of the day, but their handicaps were enough for the win with a nett score of 56. Congratulations to Ray Tanner (12), Herman Freimayer (25), David Flux (24) and Peggy Flux (19).
Twenty four guests also attended the beginner golf lessons and were hosted by the two local professionals. Taking out the putting competition was Chris Halfpenny and the chipping competition winner was Paula Castronova.
An on course charity event raised $1,298 for the Make a Wish Foundation.
The most excited person in the room was the winner of the Melbourne Cup Experience, Vera Mortimer who's milestone birthday came one day early...
