Hollard Insurance Golf Day 2017 - New South Wales Golf Club
The 10th Hollard Golf Day took place at the majestic New South Wales Golf Club on a day when the weather was predicted to turn late in the day. Thankfully all the guests were off the course by the time the rain finally hit, but that said, the cold and strong winds made it challenge enough all ready!
Amazingly we had two hole in ones on the day. Congratulations to Chris Crammond who hit a 5 iron to the difficult 2nd hole to see it take one hop and disappear. Then on his final hole of the day Rowan Watson hit a 9 iron that rattled the flagstick on the full and dropped in the hole on the 11th.
The golf event was closely fought with less than a shot separating the winners from the runners up. With a nett 56.25 our runners up had a very unusual front nine with 8 pars and a hole in one! This was followed by three straight birdies from 10-12 to put them back up the leaderboard before a birdie on the second last hole saw them complete the round in six under par. Congratulations to Richard Enthoven, Dean Van Es, Shaun Leveton & Chris Crammond. Our winners actually had three shots different to the runners up on the 2nd hole as they posted a bogey four compared to the hole in one. Even though they gave away this three shot advantage, they didn't suffer any other bogeys throughout the day and their six birdies were enough to give them a nett score of 55.375. Well done to the winners of the 10th Hollard Golf Day - Bayne Carpenter, Jonathan Buck, Mark Rix & Simon Lindsay!
