2025 Lexus of Newcastle Golf Invitational - The Vintage Golf Club
The Lexus of Newcastle Golf Invitational was held at its traditional home, The Vintage Golf Club. After weeks of poor weather, we were treated to a beautiful Spring day! Scoring was extremely close with five teams within 0.75 of the winning score.
The third placed team of Deb Plummer, Joanne Dusterhoft, Matthew Brooks & Gregory Brooks shot the lowest score of the day by three shots, but when handicaps were taking into account they would fall just short with nett 55.37. Their round consisted of eight birdies and no bogeys, but a par on their final hole would prove the difference. The runners up were just 0.12 shy of the winning score with nett 55.12 and after starting with a bogey on their first hole of the day, a podium finish was the last thing on their mind. Six birdies were added over the next twelve holes, but five pars to finish meant they had to settle for second place. Well played, Rick Stewart, Terry Pitt, Greg Robinson & Mark Petherbridge. Like the runners up, the eventual winners also made bogey on their first hole of the day. Three quick birdies would put them in a good frame of mind and when they added another birdie near the end of their round, it was enough to take out the win with nett 55. Congratulations Kay Russell (36), Phil Russell (27), Anne Tonkin (30) & William Tonkin (11). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
