2023 Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational - Rockhampton Golf Club
The Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational was held at Rockhampton Golf Club under perfect conditions. Low scores would be the order of the day with a golf professional in every group.
The winners and runners up separated themselves from the field by three shots after both shooting the amazing scores of 56! The third placed team of Andrew Thackeray, John Saunders, Anne Bishop, Sue Nowlans & Jamie Rooney (pro) had a nice birdie, par start before they reeled off six birdies in a row to rocket up the leader board. Two pars slowed their scoring before an eagle and four more birdies gave them nett 49.8. The winners and runners up both had very similar score cards with sixteen birdies and two pars. The runners up had five consecutive birdies to start their round before two pars in a row slowed them up. Their team talk must have hit the spot as they finished with eleven straight birdies to finish their round with nett 49.5. Well played, Anthony Misselbrook, Luke Hodgkinson, Nathan Cowie, Vincent Gregson & Alex McCoy (pro). The winners started with a par and surely had no idea what was about to eventuate - fourteen straight birdies would follow before slipped up with a par on their third last hole before two more birdies to finish ensured first place by just half a shot with nett 49. Congratulations Lenny Harper (25), Rod Chapman (10), Ian Macaulay (11), Reg Bradford (24) & Mackenzie Wright (pro).
