2023 Lexus of Maroochydore Golf Invitational - Twin Waters

The Lexus of Maroochydore Golf Invitational was held at Twin Waters. The course was in great condition and the weather played its part as well, putting on a perfect day for the guests. Low scores would be the order of the day if teams managed to take advantage of all the help on offer.

The winners and runners up separated themselves from the field by over two shots after shooting the two lowest scores of the day. The third placed team of Ian McKay, Jennifer McKay, David Hood & Campbell Williams were one under par after six holes and moving along steadily, until they recorded a bogey on the tough 16th hole. Things improved with four birdies after that, but another bogey late in their round stopped them from getting any higher up the leader board and they would have to settle for third place with nett 58.12. That second place team had a great start with three birdies in their first five holes. Things slowed down a bit after that and a bogey was added to their card a few holes later. The charity hole seemed to inspire the team and get them going in the right direction again and they would end up with nett 55.87. Well played, John Sandow, Elaine Sandow, Anh Pham & Persephone Lobb. The winners had an ordinary start with a bogey on their second hole and through the first nine they were languishing middle of the field at just even par. Peter Kuruvita's popcorn prawns must of set them off as they played the last nine holes in seven under par to storm to victory with nett 54.25. Congratulations John Elks (18), Rob Hammond (26), Steve Walker (12) & Sue Walker (30). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
