2023 Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitational - Terrey Hills - 18th May

The third and final Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitationals was held at Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club. Unfortunately, some heavy rain had fallen in the preceding days and the course was very wet in some areas, making shots to the green a bit further than normal. That said, scoring was still very good and three teams would finish within a shot of the winning score.

The third placed team consisted of only three players and after a bogey on their very first hole they must have thought they would be in for a long day. Instead, they would record eight birdies in their next fourteen holes to rocket up the leader board. Unfortunately, a late bogey would cost them the win when they finished with nett 54.33. Well played, Andrew Tesoriero, Ben Merillo & Chris Ward. The runners up of Trish Lawler, David Bollinger, Jordan Spira & Karen Spira were just 0.08 ahead with nett 54.25 and conversely had a fantastic start with three straight birdies. It wasn't all smooth sailing though, with them playing the next six holes in one over par. However, three birdies on their final nine was good enough to settle into second place. The winners were three under par after five holes and moving along nicely until a bogey on the tough 11th was recorded. They fought back quickly with two straight birdies and more would follow as they took out the win by 0.73 of a shot with nett 53.62. The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup and play The Royal Melbourne Golf Club was drawn at the end of the day and Adrian Schwager was the lucky winner. Adrian and his partner will have the opportunity to attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
