2022 Lexus of Newcastle Golf Invitational - The Vintage Golf Club

The Lexus of Newcastle Golf Invitational was held at The Vintage Golf Club and whilst the threat of rain was never far away, thankfully it didn't eventuate. The course was in good condition and low scores would be required to take out the win.

The third placed team of Peter Campbell, Pauline Barham, James Foteff & Luke Foteff had a solid start to their round to be six under par after thirteen holes. Unfortunately they could not produce any more birdies and their bogey, bogey finish took them from first place to third with nett 54.12. The runners up were just 0.25 of a shot better than third place with nett 53.87. They had the worst start possible, with a bogey on their first hole. Thankfully, that would be the last bogey and four birdies together with a hole in one on the charity hole allowed them to finish second. Well played, Neil Edwards, Robert Wasilewicx, Reg Fowler & Jim Harrod. The winners were off to a flying start with birdies on their first four holes...and they were only a three-ball team! That streak came to an end on the tough 18th with a bogey, but five more birdies to finish their round ensured they would sneak over the line by less than a shot with nett 53.
