2022 ANZ Sydney Golf Day - The Lakes Golf Club

The ANZ Sydney Golf Day took place at The Lakes Golf Club on the first day of Spring. Thankfully the weather looked after us, as the full field were going to require every last minute of daylight.

In the end, it was extremely close with four teams within a shot of the winning score. The Third placed team of Chris Barrington, Darren Wadhera, Matt Mulcahy & Mitch Harris were off to a slow start when they made pars on their first seven holes. A strong team talk must have ensued as they went on to record nine birdies in their last eleven holes to shoot the lowest score of the day and finish with nett 56.75. In contrast the runners up birdied their first six holes to find themselves at the top of the leader board. Unfortunately for them, they could only manage three more birdies for the rest of the round and would have to settle for second with nett 56.62. Well played, Steve Barker, Roni Perlov, Andrew Martin & Michael Hendler. The winners needed the lights on the 18th green to get them home after a round that included five birdies and no bogeys. A fine birdie on the tough 16th hole near the end of their round allowed them to take victory with nett 56. Congratulations Natasha Kemp (27), Manpreet Kapoor (21), Peter Stretton (19) & Mark Andrews (21).
