2026 Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - The Lakes Golf Club - September

The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational returned to its traditional home at The Lakes Golf Club, and after some challenging weather over the past couple of events, it was fantastic to be treated to a beautiful day. The course was presented in outstanding condition, and while the water hazards were always lurking, there were plenty of opportunities for those who could keep their ball dry!

Claiming third place on a countback were Peter Schwartz, Phillip Palmer, James Green & Paul Prevedoros, finishing with a nett 57. Their round got off to a flying start with a birdie on the opening hole, before a run of pars was followed by another birdie and an eagle to make the turn four under par. A bogey briefly slowed their momentum, but they bounced back with a couple more birdies. With just one hole to play, a higher finish was within reach, but a costly bogey on the last saw them settle for third.

Less than a shot ahead, the runners-up finished with a nett 56.12. After three steady pars to open their round, Rowan Impey, Matt Alford, Lucas Pratt & Adam Crawley turned on the fireworks, reeling off four straight birdies to rocket up the leaderboard. Another birdie a few holes later had them in a commanding position, but two bogeys in three holes threatened to derail their challenge. Thankfully, a lucky guess on the charity hole helped erase some of the damage, although the dropped shots proved costly. A terrific round nonetheless!

Taking out the win with an impressive nett 53.75 were Richard Marrowski (22), Colin Neill (9), David Berry (27) & Joyce Berry (24). They couldn’t have wished for a better start, opening with a birdie before guessing correctly on the charity hole to sit three under par after just four holes. The tough section of The Lakes then tested their resolve, with two birdies, two bogeys and two pars over the next six holes. With nine holes to play, they were well placed, but a strong finish would be needed to secure the win. Well... they certainly delivered! A sensational six birdies over the final nine holes was more than enough to seal victory, with the team finishing over two shots clear of the chasing pack. A brilliant performance and a thoroughly deserved win!
