2026 Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational - Rockhampton Golf Club
The Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational was held at its traditional home, Rockhampton Golf Club, where perfect conditions (and a golf pro in every team) set the stage for some outstanding scoring.
Claiming third place were Ian Weigh, Sirio Bertucci, Ken Healy, Max Bryant and pro, Will Bruyeres. Their round began perfectly with an eagle on the first hole and when five more birdies were added on the front nine, they were sitting high up on the leaderboard. This great front nine had nothing on the back nine when they shot an incredible 27, with an eagle and seven birdies. This gave them a record score of sixteen under par, but still it was not enough with their team's low handicap giving them a nett score of 50.4.
Runners-up of Paul Khoo, Max Mcdonald, Ian Collins, Stewart Weston and pro, Will Diabara were just 0.6 of a shot ahead with a nett 49.8. They had a great start with seven birdies in their first eight holes, but three pars in a row put them on the back foot and they would need a strong finish with just seven holes remaining. Luckily for them, they were able to answer the call and played the last seven holes in seven under par to sneak into second place.
The winning team had plenty of handicap on their side and wasted no time asserting themselves, reaching seven under par after ten holes. Things then slowed with only one birdie in the next four holes, but four consecutive birdies to finish allowed them to sign for thirteen under par and when their handicaps were taking into consideration it meant a win by exactly two shots with nett 47.8. Congratulations to Debbie Jenkins (35), John Jenkins (24), Geoffrey Shields (22), Lee Shields (31) and pro Jack Lakin. and Stuart Culley (18) on a dominant and thoroughly deserved win.

The on-course charity event was another great success, raising an impressive $3,610 for the local Rockhampton Junior Golf Program. Thank you to everyone who generously contributed and helped support such a worthwhile cause.

The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day and Janet Davies was the lucky winner. Janet will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club and attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
