2026 Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational

The Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational returned to its traditional home at Toowoomba Golf Club, Middle Ridge, where perfect weather set the scene for another fantastic day on the course. For the fifth consecutive year, the event enjoyed 100% attendance, confirming its place as a popular fixture on the Lexus calendar. The competition was equally impressive, with just half a shot separating the winning team from the runners-up!

Claiming third place were Nick Stuart, Brendan Morris, Jason Bubeck and Torin Wolff with a nett 54. They got off to a flying start with three consecutive birdies before things temporarily cooled. Finding their rhythm again, they added four birdies in five holes to move to the top of the leaderboard with six holes remaining. However, with their low handicaps, they knew they needed to keep pushing to stay ahead of the field. Unfortunately, just two more birdies over their closing six holes weren't enough, leaving them to settle for a well-deserved third place.

Finishing just over a shot ahead were runners-up Michael Casey, Cooper Job, Gary Lees and Kate Reardon, who carded an excellent nett 52.87. Their round began with a mixed bag of a par, a birdie and a bogey over the opening three holes. They then found some consistency, adding three birdies over the next eight holes before another bogey threatened to derail their progress. With plenty still to play for, they saved their best for last, producing a clutch birdie-birdie finish to post a terrific score and secure second place.

Taking home the honours with an outstanding nett 52.37 were Tom Biggers (24), Kerry Biggers (32), Kellie Murfitt (27) and Christopher Boyle (10). Their combined handicaps meant they didn't necessarily need to post the lowest gross score of the day, but they certainly weren't taking it easy, opening with a birdie before playing the next nine holes four under par. A couple of untimely bogeys through a tougher stretch of the course gave the chasing teams hope, setting up a tense finish. They didn't know it at the time, but the final four holes would prove decisive, with at least one more birdie needed to seal victory. Thankfully, they delivered when it mattered, finding that crucial birdie to edge out the field by just half a shot and claim a memorable win!
