2026 Lexus of Southport Golf Invitational - Links Hope Island

The Lexus of Southport Golf Invitational returned to its traditional home at Links Hope Island Golf Club, where the course was presented in outstanding condition. A moderate southerly breeze made playing into the wind a genuine challenge, but that didn’t stop plenty of teams from producing some impressive scores.

Claiming third place were Simon Flack, Allan Marsh, Maxwell Sweetman & Alan White. Their round got off to a slow start with a bogey on the opening hole, but they quickly put that behind them, playing their next three holes in an impressive four under par. Three more birdies would follow before they reached the closing stretch, but three consecutive pars to finish meant they had to settle for third place with a nett 56.

Just half a shot ahead were the runners-up, Caroline Campbell, Fred Parker, Mark Medcalf & Kathy Medcalf finishing with a nett 55.5. After ten holes, they sat in the middle of the leaderboard at two under par, before a brilliant eagle on the 11th gave them genuine hopes of victory. They then took full advantage of the charity hole with a hole-in-one before adding a birdie to their closing hole. It was a fantastic finish, but ultimately not quite enough to claim the title.

Taking out the win with a nett 55 were Mark Thompson (17), Julie Thompson (36), Sandrine Jacklin (24) & Ken Faulkner (27). After making the perfect start on the charity hole, they had to work hard to keep their round on track, with two bogeys on the front nine leaving them at even par and seemingly well outside the podium places with nine holes to play. But what followed was spectacular, as four consecutive birdies rocketed them up the leaderboard and secured the victory by less than a shot.
