2026 Lexus of Central West Golf Invitational - Dubbo Golf Club
The Lexus of Central West Golf Invitational took place under perfect conditions. The course was in fantastic shape and with the 100% turn out, great scores would be the order of the day.
In the end, the top three teams were separated by just 0.37 of a shot! The third placed team of Joe Burgun, Jock Rodgers, Luke Robinson & Ross Horrocks shot the lowest score of the day, an incredible 59. With a score like that, you have to get off to a good start start and they certainly did being six under after six holes. Four pars would follow before they would add six more birdies to finish with nett 51.87. The runners up finished just 0.25 ahead with nett 51.62 and after four pars to start they found something and played the next eleven holes in ten under par. With three holes to go the win was in sight until an untimely bogey on the second last hole relegated them to second place. Well played, Steven Colliver, David Powe, Brian Zaia & Wayne Hogben. The winners had a quick start with three straight birdies, but then slowed up with three pars before they played the next seven holes in seven under. This enabled them the luxury of five pars to finish the round and still take out the win by the barest margin, just 0.12 of a shot with nett 51.5. The on course charity event raised $4,570 for the Australian Skin Care Foundation - thanks to all who contributed! Flightscope was on the 1st hole - for a collection of swings, please see the video below:
Twelve guests also took part in the inaugural paint and sip and from all reports, there was just as much painting as there was sipping!
The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day and Brian Zaia was the lucky winner. Brian will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club as well as attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
