2026 Lexus of Cairns Golf Invitational - Palmer Sea Reef
The Lexus of Cairns Golf Invitational was held at the picturesque Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club, where the forecast rain thankfully stayed away. While a moderate southerly breeze made scoring into the wind a genuine challenge, the course was presented in outstanding condition, allowing plenty of teams to post impressive scores.
Claiming third place were Reg Moore, Susan Moore, Mark Seles and Lyn Seles. Their round got off to a slow start, with no birdies and a bogey through the opening six holes. They quickly turned things around with three birdies across the next four holes to get their round back on track, although a couple more bogeys threatened to derail their momentum. A timely birdie late in the round, combined with an excellent result on the charity hole, saw them finish strongly and secure third place with a nett score of 56.87.
Just one shot better on nett 55.87 were runners-up Darren Rae, Craig Nolen, Colin Donovan and Jon Hasler. They made a flying start, opening with four consecutive birdies before an untimely bogey briefly halted their charge. Undeterred, they responded brilliantly with four birdies in the next five holes to put themselves firmly in contention. However, with only one more birdie over their closing seven holes, they ultimately had to settle for second place.
Taking out the title with an outstanding nett score of 54 were Kaileb Myers, Hamish Burnett, Craig Cygler and Izac Cygler. Sitting four-under-par through the opening nine holes, they looked well placed before encountering a couple of bogeys on the back nine. Those setbacks were more than offset by four birdies and an unforgettable hole-in-one on the charity hole, sealing a memorable victory.
