2026 Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational - Yarra Yarra

The Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational was played at the magnificent Yarra Yarra Golf Club in ideal conditions—though a touch of fog rolled through at times. With the course presenting beautifully, it was clear strong scoring would be required to feature in the prizes, just perhaps not quite as low as what unfolded.

Claiming third place were Anthony Barry, May Barry, Joel Wald and Kelly Wald. A bogey on the opening hole wasn’t the start they were after, immediately putting them on the back foot. However, they responded superbly with three birdies in the next four holes to regain momentum, before an excellent stretch of five birdies in eight holes saw them sign for a nett 52.75.

Just 0.88 shots ahead in second place on nett 51.87 were Ying Cui, Yu Qin, Kyle Sun and Alex Du. Their front nine was steady rather than spectacular, turning at three under par and not yet in contention. That quickly changed on the back nine, where a brilliant run of seven birdies in nine holes propelled them into the runner-up position.

The winning team wasted no time setting the pace, opening with four consecutive birdies. After two pars, they surged again with six birdies in a row, before adding a further three birdies and a closing eagle. The result was a record-breaking performance at a Lexus event, securing victory by an extraordinary 5.12 shots with a nett score of 46.75. Congratulations to James Klein, Evert Ballesteros, Ross Webster and Julian Ivanov.
