2025 Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - The Lakes Golf Club - September

The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational was hampered with over 100mm of rain falling the night prior. Whilst most courses in Sydney were closed, The Lakes drains incredibly well and we were able to get on for 9 holes with the weather clearing for most of the round. Understandably, the weather deterred a number of guests but by the time lunch came around we had over 120 in attendance.

Despite the wet and windy conditions the scores from the leading teams were great. The third placed team of Thi Thu Hang Do, Van Cuong Luong, Yixun Zhang & Hui Yang were more than a shot and a half ahead of 4th place when they finished with nett 28.88. Just ahead with nett 28 were the runners up with nett 28 - well played, Sanjeet Singh, Ashveen Singh, Dharmen Kumar & Fernando Hernandez. The winners just scrapped over the line with nett 27.5 and took home the Titleist StaDry golf bags, that would have come in handy earlier in the day. The on course charity event raised $2,500 for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and when this was matched by Sydney City Lexus, it took the total to $5,000 - thanks to all who contributed! Flightscope was on the 11th hole - for a collection of swings, please see the video below:

Twenty four guests took part in the beginner golf lessons conducted by the local golf professionals. Thankfully, The Lakes has an undercover teaching studio that enabled the guests to stay dry. Competitions were held in both putting and chipping and prizes were awarded to the winners and runners up as below:

Putting Winner - BT Toh

Chipping Winner - Ernest Yan

Chipping R/Up - Dennis Enrile

The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day and Bryce Johansen was the lucky winner. Bryce will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club and attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
