2025 Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational - Commercial Club, Albury

The Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational took place at the beautiful Commercial Golf Club, Albury. The course was in fantastic condition, but the quick greens would certainly play havoc with some teams. That said, we had a record margin of victory at a Lexus of Wodonga event.

The third placed team of David Merlino, Timer Barter, Mark Sayer & Justin Wunsch started steadily and were two under par after ten holes, before clicking into gear with five straight birdies to jump up the leaderboard. With four holes to play a strong finish was required, but they could only manage one more birdie and would have to settle for third place with nett 55.25. Just 0.25 ahead were the runners up with nett 55. In contrast to the third place team, they were off to a flyer with five birdies in their first six holes to put them firmly on top of the leaderboard. Unfortunately for them, they could only manage two more birdies for the rest of the round. Well played, Caron Stiler, Daniel Stiler, John Tripodi & Matt McLeod. The winners took out victory by a record margin of over five shots with nett 49.87! Still, they started slowly with three pars before playing the next six holes in six under par, including a chip in eagle on the 11th and when four more birdies were added in the closing holes, victory would be theirs! The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at La Maison Restaurant of the day and Peter Garrat was the lucky winner. Peter will have the opportunity to attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup. We were also lucky enough to have Mark Visser, Lexus Australia Ambassador at La Maison to share some of his amazing stories.
