2025 Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational - Toowoomba Golf Club, Middle Ridge

The Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational took place at its traditional home, Toowoomba Golf Club, Middle Ridge. The course was in fantastic shape and with the perfect conditions, low scores would be the order of the day.

The third placed team of Mark Burke, Elizabeth Burke, Andrew Burke & Alex Burke were three under par after nine holes and set to pounce. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't muster any more birdies and would have to settle for third with nett 54. The top two teams had the equal lowest scores of the day - fantastic 62s! But when handicaps came into play, there was a clear winner by more than a shot. The runners up finished with nett 53.62 and after four pars to start, must have been wondering if they were a chance. Four consecutive birdies shot them up the leaderboard but still, with five holes to play they were only four under par. Two birdies and an eagle on those holes would be enough to take out second place. Well played, Rhondda Purcell, Koen Mathieson, Peter Purcell & Nick Jones. The winners were a three ball team and must have felt like the odds were against them, but a birdie, birdie start would have surely given them some confidence. In the end, their round consisted of nine birdies and a lone bogey giving them the victory by 1.38 shots with nett 52. Congratulations Terry Sullivan (25), Jacob Lipp (24) & Brad Lipp (11). The on course charity event raised $3,120 for Blush Cancer Care and after the extra golf bag was auctioned off that finished just shy of $4,000 - thanks to all who contributed! Flightscope was on the 10th hole - for a collection of swings, please see the video below:

Twenty eight guests took part in either beginner golf lessons or the painting class. Competitions were held for the golfers in both putting and chipping and prizes were awarded to the winners and runners up as below:

Putting Winner - Janet Cashion

Chipping Winner - Francis Morttram

Chipping R/Up - Rhonda Smith

The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day and Brad Lipp was the lucky winner. Brad will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club as well as attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
