2025 Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational - Rockhampton Golf Club
The Lexus Rockhampton Golf Invitational was held at Rockhampton Golf Club and as the preceding event to the Ian Weigh Pro Am, each team was accompanied by a golf professional. This, together with good weather meant great scores would be required to reach the podium.
In the end, six teams shot 62 and one team managed an incredible 58! The third placed team of Debbie Jenkins, John Jenkins, Byron Molloy, Ben White & Anthony Choat (pro) were slow out of the blocks with two pars, before they rattled off seven birdies in the next eight holes. Things again slowed down and they even recorded a bogey, but four straight birdies later they managed to sneak into third place with nett 53.1. The runners up were less than a shot ahead with nett 52.4 and after three birdies in their first four holes they had to wait patiently for another one that finally came on their 8th hole. This clearly sparked something in the group as they had another seven birdies on the way home to finish in second place. Well played, Bevan Goodman, Jaron Goodman, Shaun Herman, Mace Robinson & Will Bruyeres (pro). The winners did it in style right from the outset with five birdies in a row to start their round. They then went through a quiet patch with just one birdie in the next four holes before a fantastic run of seven straight birdies would ensure victory with a fantastic 58, giving them nett 51.5. Congratulations Trudi Sullivan (26), Chrissy Poppi (27), Ty Christison (6), James Russell (6) and Alex Simpson (pro).
