2025 Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational - Royal Melbourne Golf Club - September
The Lexus Blackburn Golf Invitational was held at the number one course in the country, Royal Melbourne. The greens were typically firm and fast, but with the wild wind to match, it made keeping the ball on the green quite a challenge. That said, two teams mastered the conditions and finished almost four shots ahead of the rest of the field.
The third placed team of Ben Ellul, Matthew Ellul, Andrew Donaghey & Rod Walker had a mixed round with eight birdies and three bogeys, but it was the timing of their birdie on their final hole that snuck them into third with nett 59.75. The runners up made birdies on their first two holes to fill them with confidence, but that soon faded with a bogey on the next. Five more birdies made their way onto the card until the tough 17th hole lead to another bogey. Two more birdies would be added but still they would come up agonisingly short with nett 55.87. Well played, Mark Allen, Rhonda Reid, Barry Fitzpatrick & Peter Bennett. The winners had the lowest score of the day, a 64! It was not all smooth sailing though as their first three holes consisted of a birdie, a par and a bogey. They recorded another bogey on the tough 5th hole, but when you add ten birdies into the mix, they were able to take out the win with nett 55.62. Congratulations Roger Wang (14), Zhide Han (22), Jin Song (22) & Shuman Wan (9). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
