2024 Lexus of Tasmania Golf Invitational - Royal Hobart Golf Club

The Lexus of Tasmania Golf Invitational was held at Royal Hobart Golf Club on a fine, but windy afternoon. The breeze made scoring challenging, but still there were four teams that managed to shoot 67 or better.

The third placed team of Maxine Whitford, Tony Whitford, John Smith & Fiona Smith were off to a great start with two birdies in their first four holes. Unfortunately, they could only manage another three birdies for the rest of the round, and that coupled with three bogeys meant they would have to settle for third place with nett 57.5. The runners up were just 0.13 shy of the winning score with nett 56 and would rue the fact they could only make one birdie on their last eleven holes after they had three birdies and an eagle early on in their round. Well played, Tim D'Emden, Graeme Poulton, Gaye Diprose & Sean McGuire. The winners didn't have it all their own way and were in fact, one over par after two holes. Things changed fairly quickly when they managed eight birdies in their next nine holes, including six in a row at one stage. They even had the luxury of making pars on their final seven holes to take out the win with nett 55.87. The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day and Xiaoyu Zuo was the lucky winner. Xiaoyu will have the opportunity to attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
