2024 Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational - Toowoomba Golf Club

The Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational was held at Toowoomba Golf Club and whilst the forecast was for rain, thankfully not one drop fell whilst we were on the course and incredibly we had a 100% turn out for all aspects of the event. Olympian, Matt Denny shared some stories over lunch and entertained the 100+ crowd.

The third placed team of Peter Purcell, Kohen Mathieson, Rhondda Purcell & Marci Ingram started with a birdie and managed to keep bogeys off their card whilst adding a further four birdies during their round to finish five under par, giving them nett 52. The two teams ahead of them were in front by just half a shot and had to be separated by a count back after both finished with nett 51.5. The unlucky runners up were Paul Dehle, Tracey Dehle, Michael Casey & Jin Kim who were off to a slow start with six straight pars. Things quickly changed for the better and they would play the next eleven holes in eight under par, including four birdies in a row and an eagle on the par 5 10th. Still, their back nine score of three under par meant they would miss out on a count back. The winners of the day were the lowest handicapped team on course and that would mean they would have to shoot a very low score if they were to feature. Well, that was certainly achieved when they shot 59 with eleven birdies, but even so, if they had not birdied their last hole of the day, they would have been relegated to third place. Well played, Jordy Gloss (20), Sam Becker (12), Ben George (9) & Jake George (19). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.

The on course charity event raised $4,000 for Blush Cancer Care - thanks to all who contributed! Flightscope was on the 10th hole - for a collection of swings, please see the video below:
