2024 Steve Waugh Foundation - Grange @ Forever Green - The Lakes Golf Club
The 9th annual Steve Waugh Foundation Grange@Forever Green Golf Day was held at The Lakes Golf Club on May 23rd, raising vital funds for children and young adults living with Rare Diseases.
The event was a huge success with 25 Teams teeing off to enjoy 18 holes of golf at one of Australia's best courses. Grange@Forever Green is more than a golf day, with teams enjoying an afternoon of gourmet food and wine tasting experiences accompanied by Penfolds Grange, courtesy of major event supporters Penfolds.
For the third year in a row, we had perfect conditions for golf and in the end, five teams were within three shots of the winning score. Two teams finished on 103 points and just missed a podium finish. The SCG Trust (last year's runners up) missed out on second place via a count back when two teams finished on 105 points. They had a steady round with only two 4-pointers. Unfortunately for them, one of those 4-pointers occurred on their second last hole and they would have to settle for third. The runner up team also on 105 points representing Avalon Airport never had a score lower than a 5-pointer and when you throw in a 7-point and 8-point hole, you know they are going to be near the top of the leaderboard. The winners snuck over the line by one shot with a total of 106 points. Their round started on the 8th hole and they recorded 5-points on their first two holes and showed no signs of what was to come. Sixteen holes later they had five 7-point holes to go with seven 6-point holes and it was just enough to take out the win. Congratulations to the GWS team of Rob Aoukar (20), Alex Stanley (18), Stephen Doyle (11) & Brad Greenaway (10). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below.
We also had the Flightscope activity on the 14th hole - see below for a collection of shots.
