2024 Lexus of Central Coast Golf Invitational - Kooindah Waters
The Lexus of Central Coast Golf Invitational was held at Kooindah Waters Golf Club under perfect conditions. The course was looking beautiful and with plenty of help on course, including Lexus Australia Golf Ambassador, Dimi Papadatos, scoring was bound to be good. We also introduced painting lessons for the first time and had fifteen guests take part and another four get some golf lessons from the local professional.
When it came to golf, the third placed team of Gary Fitch, Bob Thomas, Mike Connors & Derick Kidd had a great start with three birdies in a row. Things slowed down a bit when they played their next seven holes in two under par, until an impressive finish that included seven birdies in their last eight holes allowed them to finish with nett 52.75. Just 0.08 ahead were the runners up with nett 52.67. They ended up being the only 3-ball team of the day when their fourth player failed to show. That didn't stop them starting off with a birdie on their first hole, but things changed quite dramatically on the next when they had a double bogey on the par 5 eighth hole. That must have spurred them on as they had seven birdies and an eagle for their remaining holes and just snuck into second place. Well played, Ben Vears, David Van Gestel & Matthew Van Gestel. The winners had local knowledge on their side with the local GM in the team. Still, they would be required to play some great golf and were off to a quick start with six birdies in their first seven holes. Things stalled a bit midway through the round when they could only manage one birdie in five holes, before things got moving again with four more birdies before they finished their round with nett 51.25. Congratulations Dave Stretton (3), Danielle Stretton (29), Tim Stephenson (18) & Pam Stephenson (28). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
