2024 Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational - Rockhampton Golf Club

The Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational was held at Rockhampton Golf Club under perfect conditions. Each group had a golf professional added to their team and that would ensure many a birdie would be made.

In the end, it couldn't get closer with a countback required to separate the top two teams. The third placed team of John Saunders, Andrew Thackeray, Joshua Fisher, Greg Sutton & Blaike Perkins (pro) had a steady start with four birdies in their first eight holes. But it was the six birdies in their next seven holes that shot them up the leaderboard ultimately allowing them to take third place with nett 51.1. The runner up team were unlucky to miss out on a count back with nett 50.2. They had a very similar start to the third place team to be three under par after seven holes, before five straight birdies gave them some hope of a high up finish. Well played, Carlyn Ames, Steve Ames, Anne Bishop, Sue Nowens & Bailey Arnott (pro). The winners had the lowest score of the day, a fantastic 57, that included an incredible start when they were seven under par after just six holes. They would go on to record another eight birdies before their round finished and it was enough to sneak over the line on a count back with nett 50.2. Congratulations Dean Bunt (0), Mark Thew (14), Laurena Furber (27), Emma Walker (27) & Christopher Fan (pro).
