2024 Lexus of Darwin Golf Invitational - Darwin Golf Club
The Lexus of Darwin Golf Invitational was held at Darwin Golf Club under perfect conditions. That said, a breeze steadily picked up during the day that would make scoring a bit more challenging. In the end, it was extremely close, with just 0.25 of a shot separating the top two teams.
The third placed team of Zac Sargison, Dan Casey, Shane Crowley & Cat Crowley were off to the worse possible start with a bogey on their first hole of the day. Six pars after that would steady their round before four quick birdies moved them up the leaderboard to finish with nett 56.12. Exactly one shot ahead were the runners up with nett 55.12. They had a six pars to start the round before three birdies in four holes gave them some spark. Unfortunately a bogey appeared on their card shortly after and only one more birdie would mean they missed out on top place by less than a shot. Well played, Jeff Weldon, Mario D'Mello, Greg Woodroffe & Tracy Woodroffe. The winners had a high team handicap and it would be a matter of trying to stay with the rest of the field during the round. Two birdies and two bogeys gave them a round of even par, that in the end, was just good enough to take out the victory with nett 54.87. The on course charity event raised $2,870 for the Starlight Foundation - thanks to all who contributed! Geraldine was on the 13th hole with Flightscope - for a collection of swings, please see the video below:

The opportunity to go to the Lexus Melbourne Cup and play The Royal Melbourne Golf Club was drawn at the end of the day and Damian Butler was the lucky winner. Damian will have the opportunity to attend LANDMARK by Lexus for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
