2023 Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - The Lakes Golf Club - September
The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational was held at The Lakes Golf Club. The guests were treated to perfect conditions with the course prepared for the Club Championship and clear blue skies with just a light breeze. Low scores would be the order of the day if teams were after the prizes on offer.
In the end, a count back was required to separate the first two teams when they both finished with nett 52.5. The third placed team of Kiran Nair, Patrick Tartak, Peter Golovsky & Geoff Byrne were off to a great start with an eagle on their second hole of the day. Four birdies would soon follow before they slipped up with a bogey on the short par 3 7th hole. This would prove to be the difference and they would have to settle for third place with nett 53.5. The runners up had a tough start and were one over par through three holes. Six birdies in the next nine holes would make amends for the slow start before they fell victim to another bogey on the tough 16th. Thankfully for them, a run a three more birdies would follow, but it was not enough and they would have to settle for second place on a count back with nett 52.5. Well played, Jennifer Smailes, John Smailes, Craig Bunker & Joel Short. The winners had a steady start to the day to be two under par after nine holes and there were no signs of things to come. They managed to put an incredible stretch of golf together and played their next six holes in seven under par to rocket up the leader board. In fact, they even had the luxury of a bogey on their last hole to take out the win on a count back with nett 52.5. Congratulations Ben Adler (10), Sandee Malouf (26), Omar Moujalli (16) & Jill Thurkettle (31). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
