2023 Lexus of Port Macquarie Golf Invitational - Port Macquarie Golf Club

The Lexus of Port Macquarie Golf Invitational was held at Port Macquarie Golf Club under perfect conditions, which were a stark contrast to the rain that was experience the previous year. The beautiful conditions lent themselves to some great scores, but in the end one team ran away with the victory by three shots.

The scores amongst the other teams were a lot closer, with a count back required to separate second and third. The unlucky third placed team of Garry Hamilton, Matt Smith, Ron Leeson and Jim Stewart were off to a slow start when they were two over par after five holes. Thankfully, they found some form in the middle of the round and recorded five birdies in seven holes before a bogey, bogey finish would mean they had to settle for third with nett 60.5. The runners up also had a topsy turvy round with one eagle, three birdies and six bogeys and like the third placed team their two late bogeys stopped them from threatening the winners. Well played, Warren Plowright, Chris Baillie, Jeff Treadwell & Judy Treadwell who also finished on nett 60.5. The winners did it in style and were five under par after ten holes to be on top of the leader board. They were unable to improve on that score with a birdie and a bogey on their remaining holes, but it was still good enough to win by three shots with nett 57.5.
