2023 Lexus of Tasmania Golf Invitational - Royal Hobart Golf Club
The Lexus of Tasmania Golf Invitational was held at Royal Hobart Golf Club under fine, but windy conditions. It was the first Lexus event of 2023 and having a 100% turn out was a great way to start the year! The course, but in particular, the greens were presented beautifully allowing one team to shoot a fantastic 63!
Despite the great score from one team, the rest of the teams were fairly close with the margin between second and third just 0.38 of a shot. The third placed team of Ian McMichael, Tamara McMichael, Rob Windsor & Anne Windsor took a while to settle into their round and didn't have their first birdie until eight holes in. They managed another two birdies for the rest of the round and managed to keep a bogey off their card to finish three under for a nett 57.25. In contrast, the runners up were six under after nine holes and were on their way to a great score until a bogey struck and they could only manage one more birdie on their last eight holes. Well played Tony Whitford, Vince Sorrentino, Greg Mathews & Stephen Holt who had nett 56.87. The winners did it in style and shot the lowest score of the day. They had an incredible eleven birdies in their round but it wasn't all smooth sailing with two bogeys also recorded. In the end they would take out the victory by exactly four shots with nett 52.87. Congratulations Tim McConnon (18), Chase McConnon (27), Ken Smith (9) & Rob Scallon (27). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
