2023 Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational - New South Wales Golf Club

The Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational was held at the spectacular New South Wales Golf Club. Unfortunately, the word 'spectacular' could not be used to describe the weather, with constant showers and a 50km/hr breeze making life challenging for the guests. That said, there were some extraordinary scores with three teams shooting 66 or better.

The third placed team of James Tong, Samuel Byron, Tom Jennings & Jordan Green were off to the worst possible start with a bogey on their very first hole. Thankfully for them, that would be their last bogey and seven birdies would allow them to finish with nett 57. The runners up were just 0.37 shy of the winning score with nett 54.87 and like the third place team, they had a bogey on their card early in the round. This clearly inspired them, as they went on to have eight under their next ten holes, including an eagle of the par 5 5th to rocket up the leaderboard. However, a late bogey stopped them from taking out the win, but they did shoot the equal lowest score of the day, a 65. Well played, Matthew Betsey, Nathan Bobik, Rick Truong & Tim Longford. The winners didn't have it all their own way either, and again were over par early in their round, before they went on an incredible stretch of golf to go nine under their next fourteen holes. In fact, they even had the luxury of a bogey on their last hole and still take out the win with nett 54.5. Congratulations Josh Stuart (19), Trent Bray (21), Sherri Fields (36) & Ross Ollerenshaw (8). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
