2023 Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational - Victoria Golf Club
The Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational was held at The Victoria Golf Club under perfect conditions. The course was in fantastic shape as usual and low scores would be the order of the day.
The third placed team of Henry Nguo, Adam Rugg, Chris Minas & Frank Mascaro were off to a great start with three birdies in their first four holes, until their only bogey of the round came on the tough 13th hole. That must have inspired them as they played the next five holes in six under par to get straight back into contention. Unfortunately they could only record one more birdie on their last eight holes and would have to settle for third place with nett 53.62. The runners up started with two pars and there were no signs of things to come. They managed to put together thirteen birdies in their remaining sixteen holes and still finished one shot shy of the winning score with nett 51.37. Well played, Paul Fraser, Michael Palma, Brett Randall & Sean Randall. The winners set a Lexus record for the most amount of eagles in a round - a staggering 4 eagles - it started on the par 4 15th where they drove the green and holed the putt, the par 3 16th where their generous donation gave them a hole in one, the par 5 17th where they were on for two and holed the putt and the par 4 1st where they drove the green and holed the putt. Needless to say, that put them in a good position for the win when they signed for a 58 and nett 50.37. Congratulations Rob Makinson (25), John Makinson (24), Craig Haase (4) & Neil Haase (8).
