2023 Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational - Royal Melbourne - September

The Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational was held at the number one course in the country, Royal Melbourne Golf Club, under windy but warm conditions. The course was playing hard and fast and with the wind, the golfers would be truly tested.

In the end, it was extremely close with less than a shot separating the top three teams. The third placed team of Mark Allen, David Jones, Mel Miles & Richard Lewis had an indifferent start with a par, a birdie and a bogey on their card after three holes. They then found some form and had four birdies in the next nine holes, but were unable to find another birdie for the rest of the round and would have to settle for third with nett 59.75. The runners up were off to a strong start with two birdies in their first four holes. Unfortunately for them, they played the next six holes in one over par before a string of birdies shot them up the leader board. A late bogey however, would prove the difference between first and second when they finished with nett 59.62. Well played, James Blair, Paul Kinsey, Allan McEwan & Mark Austin. The winners had an extraordinary start to their round with four birdies in six holes to be a few clear at the top of the leader board and despite playing their remaining holes in two over par, they were still able to scrape through for a win with nett 58.87. Congratulations Yuan Qian (15), Kwong Tang (24), Fang Xie (32) & Jian Bai (18). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
