2023 Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational - Royal Melbourne Golf Club - March
The Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational was held at the number one course in the country, Royal Melbourne Golf Club under perfect conditions. The course was looking beautiful and low scores would be the order of the day if teams were after the prizes on offer.
The winners separated themselves from the field by over a shot and a half after shooting the lowest score of the day...but more about their round later! The third placed team of Charles Chen, Swee Chow, Russell Howard & Peter Myors were six under par with three holes to go and any result was still possible. Unfortunately, they had a bogey and no birdies to finish their round and would have to settle for third place with nett 56.5. The runners up had a mixed start to their round with a birdie, two pars and a bogey. That was to be the last of the bogeys, however and they would go on to record eight more birdies to finish with nett 55.12. Well played, Daniel O'Connell, Jacqueline Lamoureux, Jeremy Raniti & John Wildes. The winners had an extraordinary round and were in fact one over par after five holes. They would then go on to record thirteen birdies in their next fourteen holes - the stuff of legends! The only hole they didn't birdie was in fact a bogey, but they had done enough to take out the win with nett 53.37. Congratulations James Wu (5), Lance Keillor (19), Benjamin Ng (27) & David Ginsberg (18). For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'.
