2023 HLB Mann Judd Golf Day - Concord Golf Club
The 30th Annual HLB Mann Judd Golf Day was held at its traditional home, Concord Golf Club under beautiful conditions. Less than a shot would separate the winners from their nearest rivals and in the end it would be some familiar names that would again be on the Rose Haigh Cup.
In third place with nett 56 was Natalie Tieck, Andrew Kennedy, Kris Mason & Justin Jan who had a very slow start to be two over par after three holes. Four successive birdies would follow and that put the team on a good path to eventually finish four under. Just over a shot in front were the runners up of Mark Muller, David Lamming, Stuart Clarke & Morne Swanepoel, who actually shot the lowest score of the day, a fantastic seven under par. They were off to a quick start with five birdies in their first seven holes and must surely have been thinking this was their day. However, they could only manage two under par for their remaining holes and would have to settle for second place with nett 54.37. The winning team had a steady start with eight straight pars and looked long shots to hold the trophy. Even with four holes to play they were only two under and well back on the leader board, that is, until they finished birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie to take out the win with nett 53.75.
