2023 ANZ Melbourne Golf Day - The Metropolitan Golf Club

The ANZ Melbourne Golf Day took place at The Metropolitan Golf Club on a spectacular day. The course was in fantastic condition and the hard and fast greens would have to be mastered to ensure a good score.

In the end, one team proved too good for the rest, taking out the win by just over a shot. The difference between second and third was much closer, at just 0.25 of a shot. The third placed team of Ben Moceiwai, Andy Wingrove, Billy Dwyer & James Vicary had a steady start to be two under par through nine holes, before they embarked on a scoring spree, playing their last nine holes in eight under par (including an eagle on their final hole) to finish with nett 55.62. The runners up managed four birdies in a row early in their round, before they came back to earth playing their next six holes in one over par. They did however, manage to find their game again and recorded three more birdies to sign for nett 55.37. Well played, Simon Fiocco Wood, Stan Vogels, Dean Kuo & Diego Di Sabatino. The winners had played a solid round to be five under par through fourteen holes without a bogey on their card, but they still needed a strong finish to get to the top of the leader board. Three birdies in their last four holes was good enough to take out the win with nett 54.33 and even more impressive was the fact they did it as a three-ball team. Congratulations Nick Kovacevic (20), Joshua Stewart (20) & James Brown (18).
