2022 Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - The Lakes Golf Club - September

The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational was held at The Lakes Golf Club. After a cool start the day, guests were treated to a perfect day for golf, albeit a little windy.

Scoring is always tough on the championship layout but in the end, less than half a shot would separate the top two teams. The third placed team of Mark Warren, Con Bletsas & Stephen Thomas did a great job as a three-ball team and managed to shoot the equal lowest score of the day, a 65 for nett 56.17. The runners up had the win in their sights when they were six under par through eleven holes, however they had a rough ride home and would finish three under par to miss out on the victory by just 0.37 of a shot with nett 55.37. Commiserations to Jennifer Smailes, John Smailes, Kate Biddle & Ben Adler. The winners were having a steady round and were two under after twelve holes. Thankfully for them, they had a great finish with two eagles and a birdie on their last six holes to take out the win with nett 55. The on course charity event raised $3,700 for the Sydney Children's Hospital and when this was matched by Sydney City Lexus it turned into a healthy $7,400 - thanks to all who contributed!
