2022 Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational - Commercial Golf Club, Albury
The Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational was held at the Commercial Golf Club, followed by a wonderful cocktail party at Miss Amelie. After a cool start the day, guests were treated to a perfect day for golf and one team would go on to shoot a 59 and still not take out the winners prize!
The top team separated themselves from the rest of the field by 1.5 shots, but it was much closer between second and third with a margin of just 0.63. The third placed team of Rob Pickett, Euan Pickett, Brian Moriarty & Paul Spencer scrapped into third by just 0.12 of a shot. They had a solid round of six birdies and an eagle on the charity hole, but they must be ruing the four pars to finish meaning they would have to settle for third place with nett 55.75. The runners up had a steady start to their round to be two under par after nine holes, but a run of eagle, birdie, birdie to start the back nine shot them up the leader board into second with nett 55.12. Well played, Casey Gamble, Jo Whitehead, Edward Pitargue & Renea Pitargue. The winners were never troubled after recording seven birdies and an eagle on the charity hole. They even had the luxury of making four pars to finish their round with nett 53.62. Congratulations John Barfoot (+1), Howard Sharp (18), Dean Howard (20) & Jeremy Lee (22). The on course charity event raised $1,610 for the 365 Campaign to raise awareness of the mental health risk faced by emergency workers - thanks to all who contributed! Ashleigh was on the 11th hole measuring the guest's 'smash factor'. For a collection of swings, please see the video below:
