2022 Lexus of Sutherland - Macquarie Links

The Lexus of Sutherland Golf Invitational was finally held at Macquarie Links International Golf Club after two attempts early in the year that were hampered by the Sydney weather. After a cool start the day, the guests were treated to a perfect day for golf, albeit a little windy.

In the end one team stormed ahead to win by more than a shot, but it was a different story with the minor places with three teams within a shot of each other. The third placed team of Peter Scullion, Warwick Williams, Don McKinnon & Mark Batger had an up and down start with four birdies and two bogeys in their first ten holes. Thankfully for them, they would play their final eight holes in six under par to finish with nett 56.37. The runners up were just 0.37 of a shot better than third place with nett 56. They had a poor start to their round and were one over after two holes. A birdie quickly followed on their third hole and they would go on to shoot seven under par. Well played, Hon Chung Wong, Andrew Kwan, Alan Lau and Davis Lu. The winners were having a steady round and were four under after eleven holes. A couple more birdies put them in with a good chance of a podium finish, but when they finished birdie, eagle (taking full advantage of Mark's long drive off the 7th) they were able to rocket up the leaderboard and take out the win with nett 54.62.
