2022 Lexus of Springwood Golf Invitational - Links Hope Island
The Lexus of Springwood Golf Invitational was held at the beautiful Links Hope Island. The course was in great condition and the weather also played its part, meaning good scoring would be the order of the day.
In the end it came down to just over half a shot between the winners and the runners up. The third placed team had slow start with four pars in a row, but when joined by one of the golf pros things improved greatly and four birdies were recorded. Alas, the golf pro couldn't stay any longer and it was back to pars until the charity hole where they amazingly recorded a hole in one to finish with nett 55.12. Well done, Ziyaad Omar, Ahmed Omar, Ernie Pattinson & Clive Schultz. The second placed team never took their foot of the gas and had the lowest score of the day, a 60! There round included two eagles in a row on the 11th & 12th. Together with six birdies and a hole in one on the charity hole, they were going to be hard to beat. However, amongst all that good golf there was one bogey on the tough 15th hole and that would mean they had to settle for second place with nett 54.37. Well played, Robert McAfee, Judy McAfee, Ben Pace & Greg Simcoe. The winners finished with nett 53.75 and had a very slow start and were only two under par through fourteen holes, but when you finish eagle, hole in one, par, birdie that is sure to rocket your team up the leaderboard. Congratulations Andrew Morrice (27), Andrew Nottingham (10), Brad Yow (18) & Tim Grigg (27) who also qualify to play for the Gordon Scifleet Trophy at Brookwater in March.
