2022 Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience - Royal Melbourne Golf Club
The Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience took place at the number one course in the country, Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Despite the poor weather forecast, we managed to get most of the round finished before the rain settled in and made the last few holes a challenge. Scoring on the day was relatively good and in the end the margin between first and second was just 0.25 of a shot.
The third placed team of Melissa McNair, Noel McNair, Ima Core & Douglas Core finished with nett 58.37 to be exactly one shot shy of the runners up. They had a steady round with three birdies and a great eagle on the 15th to finish with the second lowest gross score of the day, a 67. The runners up were slow out of the blocks and after eleven holes were only two under par. A strong finish included three birdies, but also a dreaded bogey to record nett 57.37. Well played Craig Hyde, Jamie Lees, Melinda Lees & John Pincock. The winners were up and down earlier in their round and had three birdies and two bogeys in their first eleven holes. Thankfully for them, they finished in style with three late birdies to take out first place by the barest of margins with nett 57.12.
