2022 Lexus of Indooroopilly Golf Invitational - Links Hope Island

The Lexus of Indooroopilly Golf Invitational was held at the beautiful Links Hope Island. The course was in great condition and the weather also played its part, meaning good scoring would be the order of the day.

In the end one team ran away with the victory by over a shot, but it was extremely tight for the other spots on the podium with four teams within 0.75 of the runners up score. The third placed team of Colin McMillan, Anne McMillan, John Elks and Judy Elks had a fantastic start to be four under after five holes. A few pars were followed by birdie, birdie, birdie, eagle to put them in a great position with six holes to play. That six holes would prove to be unfruitful and they would have to settle for third place with nett 53.37. The runners up were just 0.25 better with nett 53.12 and also had a good start to be five under after nine. A bogey on their 10th hole of the day (the 6th) would slow their momentum but three more birdies to finish allowed them to sneak into second placed. Well played, George Brown, Patsi Brown, Mark Williams & Scott Vogler. The winners were five under through five holes and surely started thinking about the victory when, out of no where, they bogeyed the 1st hole. They were able to settle after that and record four more birdies on the way home to finish more than a shot ahead with nett 51.5. Congratulations Guy Mitchell (27), Sally Mitchell (36), Vincent Fong (19) & Angela Fong (10) who also qualify to play for the Gordon Scifleet Trophy at Brookwater in March.
