2022 Lexus of Brisbane Golf Invitational - Links Hope Island

The Lexus of Brisbane Golf Invitational was held at the beautiful Links Hope Island. The course was in great condition and the weather also played its part, meaning good scoring would be the order of the day.

In the end it came down to just half a shot between the winners and the runners up. The third placed team had a wonderful round of golf with seven birdies and a hole in one on the charity hole to finish nine under par. Still, that wasn't enough and they had to settle with third place with nett 53.87. The second placed team never took their foot of the gas and had the lowest score of the day, a 60! Unfortunately pars on their last two holes would cost them the win when they signed for nett 51.5. Well done, David Salmon, John McIntosh, Greg Fyffe & Warren Bamford. The winners were disadvantaged by being a three ball team, but took full advantage of one of the pros and had three straight birdies. Decision time came when they reached their final hole, the 17th charity hole. A generous donation allowed them to get the hole in one and that would prove to be the difference when they won but less than a shot with nett 51. Congratulations Gerry Manteit, Gurdip Singh & Bruce Manderson who also qualify to play for the Gordon Scifleet Trophy at Brookwater in March.
